We seek to keep needy students in school by providing for their tuition and related educational expenses. Most of our students are orphans and come from a background of abject poverty. For these students, we are their only hope to getting a basic education.
13 students are currently enrolled in the program at various levels of education. 6 students that graduated high school in 2021, and 3 of them received direct admission to public universities in Kenya. This is a testament to what hope and hard work can achieve. Their renewed confidence and joy tells it all. 7 other students are enrolled in High Schools across the Kisii/Nyamira area, while 2 are in primary school. Strands of Hope provides financial support to meet academic and personal needs for all the students (primary, high school, and university) including shopping for books & personal effects, transportation, and pocket money. Over the last 5 years, 14 other students have graduated from the program.
